A new AT&T campaign under the name “You’ve Got A Case” has emerged on Facebook, which, believe it or not, lets you advocate for a phone of your choice for the upcoming holiday season.

After you allow the app specially made for the campaign to access your Facebook data, you are presented with five 4G phones to choose from (HTC Vivid, HTC Inspire 4G, Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket, Samsung Captive Glide 4G and BlackBerryTorch 4G) and an option to choose a friend or family member who will be an opponent to you on the court. Your lawyer in charge (Kent Wesley) is played by actor Will Arnett, who will use his persuasive skills to defend your interests, and win the phone for you eventually.

Everything will result with a video of the trial which can be shared on your/your opponents Facebook wall, and left for the Facebook audience to watch. If the opponent you have chosen doesn’t have a Facebook account, the case will be sent to them via e-mail.

Take a look at the series of videos made for the campaign, featuring Kent Wesley, your fictional  attorney after the break:

Personally, I found the actor very annoying, whom I listened to repeatedly while my case was being built (it was taking a while due to my low internet speed), and I did not go through with it. On the other hand, I really liked the idea of persuading someone to get you a phone through a “trial” with the help of a lawyer. In case you lasted until the end, feel free to share your thoughts about the app with the rest of us in the comment area below.

It has been noted that although the smartphones offered in the campaign were labeled with a 4G tag, AT&T made the 4G service available only in fifteen metropolitan areas. The areas are: Dallas/Forth Worth, San Antonio, Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, Boston, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Athens, GA, Charlotte, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Oklahoma City, and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
