“Beauty is the opposite of perfection, it’s about confidence, charisma and character,” proudly states one of the ego-boosting tweets that can be found on the official twitter page of Dermablend. After the shocking video from 2011 starring Rico Genest (also known as the world’s most tattooed guy), the brand, in cooperation with Tuxedo Montreal, have unvelied a new, yet a bit (in my opinion) cheesy campaign which focuses on the product’s benefit: the greatest powder coverage that the world has ever seen.

Now, within the campaign “Camo Confessions” we are witnessing the striking face-skin transformation of three protagonists: Rico aka Zombie Boy, as well as actress, model and vlogger Cassandra Bankson and college volleyball coach Cheri Lindsay. The video starts by showing how the main protagonists are taking down their facial camouflage (powder) and revealing poignant personal stories.

At the end of these confessions they are inviting people to “take it off” and share their stories in any format which they consider to be the most suitable: video, photo or message via the brand’s official Facebook page. So far, 19 videos were uploaded encouraging others to speak freely about skin issues (no matter of the type) advocating for the self-safety and confidence. For every posted video Dermablend will donate $1 to Look Good Feel Better, a non-profit organization that supports woman suffering from appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment.
