There are thousands of different ways to motivate people to like a Facebook page. Whether it’s intentional or unintentional, it seems that this magic click is something we all tend do, but we usually end up forgetting why we liked it in the first place. But what do you think it would happen if you clicked on the “Like the page” button and became the 1 millionth fan of a Facebook page that has got a special surprise prepared for you? Well, I bet all of us would love to be this person.
Mike’s Hard Lemonade, the alcoholic lemonade maker from Chicago, decided to impress their one millionth fan which goes by the name of Paul by temporarily rebranding to Paul’s Hard Lemonade as a kind reward of helping the beverage company reach an impressive number of fans. Soon after the announcement, they even updated their Facebook and Twitter pages (changed names), revamped their website and created a new logo and packaging design which was live for 24 hours.
With the help of Chicago agency Tris3ct, they’ve also made a short video which shows what people who participated in organization of this event went through, how the logos were printed or how personalized lemons ended up on t-shirts.
“Rebranding as ‘Paul’s hard lemonade’ this week is our unique way of creating a personal connection with our fans and rewarding one passionate consumer with the flavors he loves,” says Sanjiv Gajiwala, the company’s director of marketing.
