Brand leadership is thought leadership
How come the role of communications doesn’t hold more power in an organization? That’s the question Flavia dives into during this lesson. She uses the lens of thought leadership to not only explain some of the unmet expectations on the receiving end of strategic communications, but to also counteract some of the biggest complaints brought forward by those producing the content.
Flavia explains clearly how some of those “barriers” can be overcome, and how one of them in particular stems from the common misconception that thought leadership is a type of content. For her, it’s not—and it shouldn’t be for you, either.
Exercise 1
What are some of the complaints that you’ve heard (or even made) when it comes to why you aren’t able to produce more quality content? How would you approach those barriers differently if you were to shift thought leadership from a framework to a mindset?
