Susumu started his career in the ad industry as a copywriter. Besides client works, with his passion to create a better future for society, he worked on many social projects as well as publishing books including “Social Design” (Kirakusha), “Communication Shift – From Selling Goods to Communication that Improves Society” (Hatori Bookstore), “Happy Birthday 3.11” (Asuka Shinsha), and many others. Prior to his current position, he was the executive director in Dentsu Digital Inc. where he set up Advanced Creative Center aimed to create ideas by multiplying data with creativity.

A visiting professor at Kyoto University of Art and Design, Susumu is a member of the Tokyo Copywriters Club and was one of the Good Award Juries in 2018 and one of the TEDxTokyo Teachers speakers in 2015. He received numerous advertising awards in Japan including ACC Tokyo Creative Awards, TCC (Tokyo Copywriters Club Awards), and Yomiuri Advertising Awards.
