The folks responsible for the marketing of Diet Coke has decided to keep on promoting health awareness to their consumers, this time by supporting The Heart Truth campaign, lead by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. In fact, diet coke has been a passionate partner in the initiative for six years now, and they’ve decided that its time to bring some social media into the mix.

Diet coke is labeling their packaging with the #ShowYourHeart hashtag, ushering those willing to upload and share photos of what “showing your heart” means to them to do so, since it will be put up on the collaged site. These photos should include a heart in some shape or form.

Erik Jenkins, Diet Coke Brand Manager, states. “We hope every time someone picks up a Diet Coke can and sees the striking brushstroke heart design, they’ll use the hashtag to join the social conversation supporting this important cause.”

Minka Kelly, celebrity ambassador for this particular cause, will be endorsing the campaign at the Red Dress CollectionSM Fashion Show on February 6 at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. She will be wearing a red Oscar de la Renta, for all those wondering.

“Every woman can play an active role in her heart health, but many may not realize it. I’m so excited to be a part of a campaign that brings attention to this important issue, and have the opportunity to inspire other women to get involved,” says Minka Kelly.
