Having reached 8 million fans on Facebook, Domino’s, the second-largest pizza chain in the United States, got an opportunity to use its namesake dominoes in a video made to honor their digital admirers: a thank you video was made by the Crispin Porter + Bogusky advertising agency.

Domino’s gratitude to their fans on Facebook seems to be really big considering the fact that they’ve used over 50,000 dominoes in the video and spent over 120 hours in just making them to say that they like their fans as well. Brands showing appreciation to their followers on social networks (especially on Facebook) has become some kind of a trend nowadays, judging by the amount of promotional films created when fans hit a certain number on Facebook.

Crispin Porter + Bogusky is known for using viral marketing techniques and Facebook milestone videos are their specialty. CP+B agency’s current client list includes some worldwide famous brands like Microsoft, Old Navy, Jell-O, Coke Zero, Milka and, of course, Domino’s. According to Domino’s customers and fans the video is a beautiful way of showing gratitude and the brand is very kind is doing so, but some of them would rather prefer a free pizza giveaway. Anyway, this is a nice gesture and, who knows, maybe in the future we could get a free snack by just liking a page on Facebook – brand loyalty sometimes can indeed pay off.
