What’s included?

When you finish, you walk away with:

  • A point of view you can defend—a clear, considered take on the work that holds up when a stronger personality pushes back.
  • The confidence to lead without a title—the ability to say “here’s what we should do and why,” before anyone has formally given you the permission to do so.
  • The steadiness to hold your ground with the strongest person in the room—not by matching their volume, but by understanding what’s driving them, so you become someone they trust rather than tolerate.
  • A way of thinking you can reuse on future problems—not 30 tactics to memorize, but the reasoning behind them, drawn from Kevin's real decisions.
  • A clearer idea of the strategist you’re becoming—reflection exercises after every lesson, structured around what you’ll start, stop, and continue doing, so the change is something you can see and name in your own words.

Leadership is earned, and you can start being a leader right now.

What your peers are saying

Barry Martin

Barry Martin

Adjunct Professor of Marketing, New York University School of Professional Studies

"I've known Kevin for more than 20 years, and for over a decade I've invited him to speak to my New York University marketing classes because my students consistently leave his sessions thinking differently about leadership, influence, and the impact they can have—long before they have the title. Frameworks are easy to teach—but judgment is not. Kevin has a rare ability to help people develop the kind of judgment that becomes the foundation of great leadership."

Grace Lynch

Grace Lynch

Managing Editor at Acast Productions

"Kevin really cares about nurturing leadership. The mentorship and guidance he gave me early in my career has had a lasting impact. If you're looking to grow as a leader, I'm confident you'll benefit from his thoughtful and practical approach."

Who this course is for

This course is for you if…

  • You’re an experienced brand, marketing, advertising, or consulting professional who’s ready to move from executing the work to shaping it.
  • You do good work, but feel like the right people aren’t yet recognizing you as a strategic voice, and you want to change that.
  • You want a stronger point of view, more influence in the room, and the confidence to lead without waiting for a title to give you permission.
  • You struggle to be heard by stronger personalities, find your team jumping into tactics before agreeing on the goal, or feel uncertain about how to use AI without losing your own thinking.

This course is not for you if…

  • You’re looking for a brand strategy course. Kevin’s a brand strategist, but this course is about building yourself, not building brands.
  • You want templates, frameworks, or a credential for your résumé. The value here is a change in how you show up at work, not a certificate to show for it.
  • You’re trying to land your first job in the industry. This course is built to help you advance faster once you’re in a role.

How the course is structured

3 modules · 10 lessons · 30 actionable steps · under 2 hours · reflective exercises throughout

MODULE 1

Building Your Authority

Building Your Authority (40 min)

Leadership begins with a voice worth hearing, a perspective worth trusting, and the confidence to challenge what isn’t working.

Lessons:

  • Find your voice: Discover how grounding your work in personal values builds the authentic, consistent voice that sets you apart.
  • What’s your POV? Learn how to develop and share a well-informed point of view that people respect and rely on.
  • Ask before you tell: Understand why leading with curiosity earns deeper trust and better outcomes.
  • Question the status quo: Explore when and how to challenge the current direction, and why the best leaders know the difference between change for its own sake and change that matters.

MODULE 2

Navigating the Work

Navigating the Work (30 min)

Good work doesn’t speak for itself—it needs to be anchored in strategy, held together across every level of execution, and protected from the shortcuts that erode the thinking behind it.

Lessons:

  • What’s the point? Learn how to bring strategic clarity to any project by aligning people on objectives, strategy, and success criteria before the work begins.
  • Fly at two altitudes: Develop the ability to hold the big picture and the fine details simultaneously while connecting them in ways that keep everything coherent.
  • Don’t lose your mind: Understand how to use AI as a thinking partner without outsourcing your judgment, your voice, or your competitive edge.

MODULE 3

Leading Through People

Leading Through People (33 min)

Leadership is built in the relationships you invest in, the service you provide, and the trust you earn from people around you.

Lessons:

  • Navigate big egos & personalities: Learn how to build genuine working relationships with difficult personalities by understanding what drives them and making yourself indispensable to their success.
  • Be of service: Understand why service is a professional discipline and what’s needed to stay in the room long after the work is done.
  • Be a leader at any level: Discover what leadership actually requires and how you can earn it today, regardless of your title or where you are in your career.

turning the way customers feel into the way brands grow

“Your unique take on things gives you a role in the room. It might be the beginning of a conversation or the final answer. Either way, when it's well-founded and helpful, it gets you invited the next time there's a challenge to be solved.”

Kevin Perlmutter is a brand strategist, speaker, and the author of Brand Desire. He’s the founder of Limbic Brand Evolution, a consultancy he launched after a career-defining realization: that traditional brand strategy, for all its sophistication, largely ignores how the human brain actually works.

That realization reshaped everything. Drawing on decades of experience—from New York ad agencies, top global brand consultancies, and the co-development of an award-winning neuroscience-based research capability—Kevin built an entirely new approach to brand strategy, one rooted in behavioral science and the emotional motivations that drive real customer behavior.

This course is drawn entirely from that career. Every lesson is grounded in a real situation Kevin encountered, a real decision he made, and real principles he carried forward. And that’s what makes this course so valuable.

Most professionals in branding, advertising, and marketing spend years doing good work and waiting to be recognized for it. The frustration is almost never a lack of effort. It’s a lack of the specific skills that make people trust your judgment, rely on your thinking, and invite you into conversations that matter.

Kevin’s approach is the practical career development most professionals were never given. It’s not generic leadership advice, but 30 specific actions you can take right now, in the role you already have.

What to expect

  • Under 2 hours of video lessons across 3 modules and 10 lessons
  • Reflection exercises after every lesson, structured around what to start, stop, and continue
  • Monthly live group Q&A sessions with Kevin for the first three months after enrollment—bring the situations you’re navigating now and hear how he’d reason through them in real time
  • 14-day full refund if the course isn’t right for you.

FAQs

Is this course right for me if I’m newer to the industry?

Yes. This course is designed for professionals who already work in branding, advertising, marketing, or consulting (ideally with two or more years of experience). It assumes familiarity with client relationships, agency dynamics, and the basic rhythms of brand and marketing work. If you’re a student, you’ll still find value here, but the lessons will land differently once you live some of the situations Kevin describes.

How is this different from other leadership or professional development courses?

Most leadership courses teach you to think about leadership, including the traits, frameworks, and theory. This one teaches you to practice it. Every lesson is built on a real situation Kevin encountered in advertising, branding, and consulting, which means the advice is specific to the industry you work in rather than generic advice for any field.

Will this course help me make the case for a promotion or salary increase?

Not directly, and Kevin would be the first to say so. What it does is give you the tools to become the kind of professional that those conversations happen about. The recognition tends to follow the substance, and this course is about building the substance.

How much time do I need to set aside for this course?

The course runs under two hours in total, split across three modules of roughly 30 to 40 minutes each. Most people will find a single focused session per module is enough, meaning you can work through the entire course across three lunch breaks, three commutes, or three evenings. The reflection exercises add a small amount of time after each lesson, but they’re designed to be completed in the flow of your normal working day, not as a separate commitment.

What are the live Q&A sessions?

For the first three months after you enroll, Kevin hosts a monthly live group Q&A session open to all current students. These are an opportunity to bring your specific situations, challenges, and questions directly to Kevin and hear his thinking in real time.

Can I expense this through my organization?

Yes, an invoice is available on request. Please email info@brandingmag.com with your details.
